FOOTBALL: HAZARD DISMISSES CHELSEA EXIT CLAIMS
The Belgium international has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, with PSG keen to sign the star, but he has reaffirmed his commitment to the Blues Belgium forward Eden Hazard has declared his intention to remain with Chelsea following speculation over his future.
The former Lille man has been linked with a return to France, with Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint- Germain keen to sign the 23-year-old.
Hazard and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho have regularly exchanged differences of opinion since the Portuguese's return to Stamford Bridge - specifically on Hazard's defensive work rate and the team's tactics - and PSG boss Laurent Blanc aired his admiration for the player in May.
However, last season's PFA Young Player of the Year insists he wants to remain at Stamford Bridge, adding his desire to focus on Belgium's World Cup campaign.
"For the moment, I just want to focus on the World Cup. For the moment I have a contract with Chelsea and I don't want to leave the club," he told reporters.
"My aim is to give 100 per cent on the pitch and that's it really.
Hazard scored 14 Premier League goals and chalked up a further nine assists for Chelsea in 2013-14.
SINGER; KEFEE DIAGNOSED WITH PRE- ECLAMPSIA, NEEDS A MIRACLE TO SURVIVE
According to a new report on Tribune, the chances of Kefee getting out of coma is slim as her situation not only requires
prayers for survival, but also a miracle as the musician has been diagnosed as having pre-eclampsia – pregnancy induced high blood pressure.
Six-month pregnant Kefee had embarked on a 14-hour flight to Chicago for an event but
went into coma, forcing the plane to land in Los Angeles so that she could be urgently attended to. A source told Tribune during a phone conversation:
“Kefee surely did not know that she had a high blood pressure before she embarked
on the long trip and suddenly went into coma in the air. That she is pregnant has made her situation dicey, so she will need a miracle to survive, a doctor told me”,
Meanwhile, a medical doctor in Nigeria, Dr Adeyefa, shedding more light on Kefee’s condition, said:
“Kefee is in a precarious situation because of the six months pregnancy. If the
foetus had been nine months, the doctors would have removed the baby and saved the mother and child. As it is now, not only
will the baby not survive because the carrier is in coma, Kefee may also lose her life from further complications. The chances of the mother surviving is narrow, while the kid has a narrower chance. I urge Nigerians to pray for her for a miracle because that is
what she really needs,” he added.

FEMALE SUICIDE BOMBER ATTACKS MILITARY FACILITY IN GOMBE STATE
Two persons have died in Gombe, capital of Gombe State, after an explosive device
reportedly went off prematurely. According to a top security source in the state, the dead
were a soldier and the suicide bomber a woman who was “scattered” by the blast.
If confirmed, it will be the first recorded case of a female suicide-bomber in Nigeria. “The
explosion occurred at about 11am along Military Quarter Guard along Biu Road in
Gombe,” the source said. “The woman had the explosive in her bag, but the thing went off
prematurely. She was scattered by the explosion. Unluckily, she got a soldier as well.”
The source further told TheCable that although the woman hadn’t arrived her destination when the bomb went off, chances
were high that the military quarters was her target.
LOLA OMOTAYO-OKOYE OPENS UP: “WHY I MARRIED PETER OKOYE EVEN THOUGH I'M MUCH OLDER
There has been much controversy recently, surrounding the wedding of one half of the P-Square duo — Peter Okoye to his long time sweetheart, Lola Omotayo. The couple have been in a relationship for over eight years before they finally tied the
knot on Sunday, November 17, 2013.
There has been a lot of talk and whispers about their marriage, the family issues and
the fact that Lola is by far older than Peter okoye has been trending. But why did she decide to marry someone who’s her junior?
Below is Lola Omotayo’s stand on their age
difference: -
Lola, who was a Business Development Director at FKG2m a marketing agency in Lagos, had told the story of how she and Peter met and how the relationship started:
“My agency handles some of British American Tobacco brands and P-Square was doing a show for us at one of our
events in Enugu. Though I had met Peter a couple of times before then, at the show there was some chemistry. He asked for my number and I refused
giving it to him. I told him ‘if you really want to know me, you have to find my number’. So he took it as a task and found
my number and the rest is history.”
Lola, said to be in her 30s then and Peter in his 20s, was not disturbed by the age difference. Her reason:
“Like I said, Peter is an old soul and he always tells me that I’m like a 23-year-old.
Age is just a number. Right now, you can see it around the world. Demi Moore, Usher and some known people. Even in Nigeria
here, they are dating people far older than their age. So, we shouldn’t base it on the
age factor. He doesn’t make me feel like he’s younger than me.”
PRESIDENT JONATHAN MOURNS LATE PROFESSOR; DORA AKUNYILI
Here’s a press statement signed by presidential media aide, Reuben Abati, of the president mourning the loss of former
NAFDAC DG, Prof Dora Akunyili who passed away yesterday after a two year battle with
cervical cancer. President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has
received with shock and sadness, news of the sudden and untimely death of Professor Dora Akunyili, former Minister of Information and Communications. The President believes that Professor Akunyili will live long in the memories of those who were privileged to know her as a diligent professional, a public- spirited and forthright public officer, and as a person of great convictions.
President Jonathan considers her contributions to nation-building while she served as the Director-General of the National
Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), and as Minister of
Information and Communications, particularly invaluable.
The President states that it is sad that her death has come at a time she was making further efforts to help sustain and strengthen the unity and stability of the country in her capacity as a member of the on-going National Conference. Without any doubt, she will be greatly missed. President Jonathan commiserates with the Akunyili family, the government and people of Anambra State, members of the National
Conference and all her loved ones. He prays that the Almighty in His infinite mercies will grant them the fortitude to bear
the irreparable loss of this truly distinguished citizen and patriot.

BABY ALLEGEDLY DIES IN CHURCH AFTER DEDICATION [PHOTO]
"A witness to the sad incident sent me the story...but I am going to leave out the name
of the church and the pastor who dedicated the baby, because I haven't been able to
verify the authenticity of the story, but the person who sent it to me swears this happened. Her story below...
"The story is about a couple who
attends a church around the IPO axis in Lagos. The name of the Church is (name withheld) opposite the MTN mast in
Baruwa around Ipaja area of Lagos State. The Pastor whose name is (name withheld) dedicated a baby on sunday
1st June, 2014 and the baby (pictured above) died right there in the church.
It was an unusual thing to have seen a pastor dedicating a baby without carrying the baby on his hand. What the Pastor did was to sprinkle oil andche prayed without even touching the
baby. When someone who was invited by the couple, Godwin and Amaka Mark
asked them why the pastor wasn't carrying the baby, they stated that it was a norm in that church for babies to
be dedicated in that manner. Soon after the benediction, the Pastor disappeared
from the church and when the parents of the dead baby realized that theircchild was no more breathing, they
called the pastor on his mobile phone.
The pastor refused to come back to the church stating that he had already taken off his clothes. He was further told that the baby which he had just
dedicated was dead and his response was, "it is well"!
The bereaved parents had to go and bury their dead child with the assistance of the invited guests. The following day, the pastor sent some
people to pay a condolence visit to the bereaved couple. The mother of the deceased child said that the pastor
knows about the death of her child and when she expressed her displeasure over
the Pastor's actions, the emissary went back to inform the pastor.
The pastor has threatened to sue Mrs Amaka Mark if she does not retract her statement within 7days.
Mr and Mrs Mark made it very clear to the pastor that they were ready for any legal tussle with him. Now the pastor has been pleading with the couple in
order not to make it public."

ACTRESS STEPHANIE OKEREKE BEGINS TV SHOW FOR LOVE CALLED ‘Make Me Fabulous'
18 YEAR OLD NIGERIAN UNDERGRADUATE WAS KILLED IN GHANA OVER MONEY
18-year-old Godwin Awogbo, a 300 level student of University of Cape Coast in Central region, Ghana, studying Social Science was brutally killed. His body had been found with some his internal organs gorged out, with his hands and legs tied.
His Father Mr Fred Awogbo whose eyes were swollen, obviously due to prolonged crying, expressed many regrets as regards why he had not listened to his late son’s proprietor who had suggested that he should send his son to Canada to further his studies or better still, allow his son to weather the storm of strike actions often associated with Nigerian universities than losing him in Ghana to the cold hands of death, where he thought he was safe and he would not lose him to strange culture.
The bereaved father revealed that his son’s room-mate borrowed $4500 from him and killed him when he asked for the money..He said..
“We arrived at the Nigerian High Commission and with some of the staff of the High Commission, we went to meet the Vice Chancellor. The meeting was also witnessed by the Police and all Nigerian community leaders in Ghana. At the meeting, the management asked some of his friends and roommate to say what they knew about his death. Meanwhile, while I was in Nigeria, I spoke with his roommate, a Ghanaian, who told me that my son had withdrawn some thousands of dollars meant for his school fees, but had lent the money to some students. When he requested them to pay back, they started threatening his life. It was after the threats that he heard about his death.
“Unfortunately, after everyone of them had spoken, not even the roommate mentioned the issue of those my son lent some money and how they threatened him. So, I told the school authority and the police right there to ask him to tell them how my son was threatened. It was when he started talking that we realised he (the room mate) was the one who borrowed about $4,500 from my son, thereby denying my son the opportunity of paying his school fees on time. When my late son started worrying him, he set him up. So, after the police took my statement, they promised to arrest him.”
“My son was brought up in the church. When he was still in secondary school, he was being addressed as ‘Dr Pastor’ because he was active in church”. Appreciating the efforts of the Nigerian High Commission, Mr Awogbo said
“The Nigeria High Commission in Ghana really surprised us with the amount of effort they have put into this case. They have promised to make sure the killer is brought to book.
Honestly, I regret sending my child to study in Ghana, because if he had gained admission into higher institution in Nigeria, this would not have happened.
The reason I sent him to Ghana was to avoid the issue of strike action in Nigerian higher institutions. Even his mother and proprietor wanted him to go to Canada to further his studies. They really persuaded me but I said ‘No’, because I didn’t want to lose my boy.
I have been traveling to Europe for more than 20 years and I know what happens in such developed countries. At a tender age, I thought if I sent him there, I might lose him; he might not even want to come back home.So I decided that after he’s through with his degree, he would go and do his Masters in Canada, but here we are.
As for now, I cannot advise any Nigerian parent to send their children to study in Ghana; a lot of them studying here are teenagers and the stress is too much for them. Coming here myself has made me know that, in addition is the fact that the money we are paying is too much, compared to what private universities are charging in Nigeria.”
